Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center Signs MOU with U-IoT Association and Korea Software Industry Association
Agrees to Collaborate on AI Technology, IoT, Software Information Exchange, and Talent Development
On the 18th at 11 a.m., the Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center signed an MOU with the U-IoT Association and the Korea Software Industry Association at the Dong-Eui University Industry-Academic Cooperation Building.

The AI Grand ICT Research Center at Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan), led by Director Jeong Seok-chan, signed an MOU on March 18 at 11 a.m. in the PRIME Convention Multipurpose Hall on the first floor of the Industry-University Cooperation Building at Dong-Eui University with the U-IoT Association (Chairman Kim Kwon-chul) and the Korea Software Industry Association (Busan·Gyeongnam Regional Council Chairman Kim Seok-gyu).
The organizations agreed to cooperate on △ AI technology and IoT information exchange △ AI and related software talent development △ AI, IoT, and software-related research activities, educational projects, and academic conference hosting.
The event was attended by Jeong Seok-chan, Director of the AI Grand ICT Research Center; Kim Kwon-chul, Chairman of the U-IoT Association; Kim Seok-gyu, Chairman of the Korea Software Industry Association Busan·Gyeongnam Regional Council; and other officials.
Jeong Seok-chan, Director of the AI Grand ICT Research Center at Dong-Eui University and professor of e-Business, stated, “By combining the expertise of participating organizations, we will lead the expansion of the AI industry base and regional community development through mutual cooperation in joint AI-related research and program development, fostering creative AI professionals.”
The AI Grand ICT Research Center at Dong-Eui University operates with two major pillars: training AI specialists and conducting R&D in collaboration with local companies.
Since last year, it has been running a master’s program for working professionals (20 students) at the graduate school. In the second year of the project this year, a doctoral program for working professionals in the AI major was established, and 5 doctoral and 22 master’s students were finally selected.
Additionally, 12 detailed projects are being operated across four fields: AI Smart Marine, Port, and Logistics; AI Manufacturing and Robotics; AI Medical and Healthcare; and AI Smart City.

By 2027, a total budget of approximately 18.75 billion KRW will be invested, including 15 billion KRW from national funds, 1.5 billion KRW from Busan city funds, and 2.25 billion KRW from Dong-Eui University’s funds.
