Gangwon Province announced on this day that "from the 18th to the 25th, a special inspection on the management status of self-quarantined individuals will be conducted."
In implementing the enhanced management guidelines, the province will first encourage voluntary cooperation from those under self-quarantine, but will prosecute without exception in cases of unauthorized departure.
If a person leaves quarantine without permission, they will be excluded from receiving various benefits such as paid leave at the workplace, living support funds per household, and disaster relief funds from the government or city/province, with a plan to implement 'prior notice of benefit forfeiture.'
Additionally, the province will recover paid leave and living support funds already provided before the confirmation of quarantine violations, and take measures such as individual claims for compensation.
Furthermore, to minimize motives for leaving quarantine, support will be provided for essential tasks such as purchasing daily necessities and managing livelihood foundations, and periodic appreciation messages will be sent via the 'application' to instill pride in self-quarantined individuals for their cooperation with quarantine measures.
Monitoring and enforcement will be strengthened by operating 'special inspection weeks' by local governments to increase surprise inspections, focusing on unauthorized departures by overseas entrants, young people, and those who have not installed the application.
The operation detection interval of the self-quarantine application will be shortened from the current 2 hours to 1 hour, and for unauthorized departures, habitual guidance measures will be reduced and a 'One-strike out' policy will be applied, with strict prosecution without exception.
