FKI Holds Seminar on Class Action System with US and French Chambers of Commerce
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), together with the American Chamber of Commerce and the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce, announced on the 17th that it will hold a seminar titled "Cases of Class Action Introduction and Implications for Korea" at 9 a.m. on the 25th at the Sapphire Room of the FKI Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul.
John Beyzner, a Scadden attorney who was a member of the drafting team for the U.S. class action legislation, will share actual operational cases and drawbacks of the class action system via video connection. Kim Si-nae, an attorney at Yulchon LLC, will present on legislative trends in Korea and the impact on the corporate environment.
Through an expert panel discussion, the seminar will examine what safeguards are necessary in the legislation when introducing the system and what measures can minimize corporate damages. Panelists include Harold Kim, Director of Legal Reform at the American Chamber of Commerce, David-Pierre Jallicon, Chairman of the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce, Seo Seung-won, Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, and James Kim, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
