Enhancing Consumer Choice
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 17th that it has accepted SK Telecom's 5G plan report submitted on the 8th.
The Ministry reviews the terms of service in accordance with relevant laws and expert opinions. The criteria are user benefits and whether it hinders fair competition.
The plan reported by SK Telecom is a follow-up to the previous untact plan. It includes supplementation of the weight sections of the 5G plan, expanding consumer choice, and advantages compared to existing LTE plans in similar sections.
The newly established plans are two types: a plan providing 110GB of data for 69,000 KRW per month and a plan providing 250GB of data for 79,000 KRW per month. The existing 75,000 KRW plan that provided 200GB of data is discontinued and replaced by the 79,000 KRW plan that provides an additional 50GB. The plan that provided 9GB of data for 55,000 KRW per month has increased the data provision to 10GB.
