[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Janet Yellen, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, emphasized the importance of the Korea-U.S. alliance during a phone call with Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, the Treasury Department announced on the 16th (local time).

The Treasury Department explained that Secretary Yellen conveyed a strong commitment to actively cooperate with Korea on regional and international challenges, including economic responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
