View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 16th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2020 Youth Policy Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and received a ministerial citation.
The ‘Youth Policy Evaluation’ was established to discover exemplary cases among youth policies being implemented by local governments nationwide.
In particular, it was conducted to share and spread excellent cases and policies nationwide to promote effective and sustainable youth policies.
This evaluation was conducted targeting 17 cities and provinces and 114 metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide.
Seventeen local governments, including Sancheong-gun, were finally selected by comprehensively evaluating youth participation and activity revitalization, integrated youth support systems, and efforts to support out-of-school youth.
Sancheong-gun received favorable reviews in evaluation indicators such as ▲establishing and operating a comprehensive social safety net for youth utilizing the integrated youth support system in the local community ▲strengthening support for out-of-school youth through customized services considering youth characteristics ▲efforts to expand youth participation in the local community.
In addition, the county received high scores for ▲strengthening prevention and healing support for youth media overdependence ▲operating after-school youth experience clubs through the Youth After-School Academy ▲providing comprehensive services such as learning support and counseling ▲operating the Youth Companion Program, a 1:1 visiting counseling support service for middle- and high-risk youth.
In particular, the county strengthened youth capabilities and expanded participation opportunities by promoting various programs such as the online youth festival ‘Bustling on the LAN line’ in response to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
