Meeting Held on the 15th for Gwangmyeong, Gunpo, Uiwang, and Anyang Areas... Lee Seong, Guro District Mayor, Attends as Representative to Discuss Coordination Plans... Establishing Continuous Cooperation System Including Interconnection of Various Anyangcheon Projects and Expansion of Mulbit Jangmi-gil Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) discussed joint cooperation measures at the Anyangcheon Advancement Project meeting for the Gyeonggi area (Gwangmyeong, Gunpo, Uiwang, Anyang) on the 15th.
Guro-gu stated on the 16th, "To achieve integrated management of Anyangcheon, we signed a business agreement with Geumcheon-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, and Yangcheon-gu last January and are jointly promoting the Anyangcheon Myeongsohwa Project. This Gyeonggi area meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences and establish cooperation plans linking to the Gyeonggi region."
The Anyangcheon Advancement Project meeting for the Gyeonggi area was attended by Guro-gu Mayor Lee Seong, Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seung-won, Gunpo Mayor Han Dae-hee, Uiwang Mayor Kim Sang-don, and Anyang City River and Greenery Project Director Lee Myung-bok, where they shared the status of Anyangcheon by local governments and discussed improvement measures.
At this meeting, Lee Seong, who proposed and promoted the Seoul Southwest Area Anyangcheon Myeongsohwa Project business agreement, attended as a representative to discuss expanding the Seoul area Anyangcheon Myeongsohwa Project to the Gyeonggi region.
The "Anyangcheon Myeongsohwa Project" is a comprehensive management plan for Anyangcheon that transcends district boundaries, promoting interlinked projects among Guro, Geumcheon, Yeongdeungpo, and Yangcheon districts to maintain ecological restoration continuity, refrain from excessive overlapping installation of specific facilities within Anyangcheon, share various facilities, create the 50-ri Mulbit Rose Road along Anyangcheon, secure continuity of walking trails and riverbanks, conduct joint surveys and removal of harmful plants, and hold joint meetings at least once a year.
In particular, at this meeting, they discussed ways to interlink various projects of Anyangcheon, which had been promoted separately by national and local rivers by region, and to expand the 50-ri Mulbit Rose Road project to the Gyeonggi region.
A Guro-gu official said, "Starting with this meeting, we expect systematic management of Anyangcheon that encompasses beyond the districts to the Gyeonggi region. We will strive through continuous cooperation to establish it as a healing spot for residents."
