[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Professor Lee Soojeong of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University analyzed that it is "highly likely to be a lie" that the husband of Seok (48), the maternal grandmother who was revealed to be the biological mother in the 'Gumi 3-year-old girl death case,' did not know about her pregnancy and childbirth.
In an interview with CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyunjung's News Show' on the 15th, Professor Lee stated, "The child is 3 years old, and if we look broadly, the couple has lived together for more than 3 years. Therefore, the claim that he did not know about the pregnancy and childbirth does not hold," asserting this point.
When asked if Seok's small stature might have concealed the pregnancy, she retorted, "Aren't they husband and wife?" and added, "The moment Seok came out of the police station, the media asked several questions, and her attitude was strongly evasive, determined to conceal everything without regard for consequences. Now, the husband's statement is also nonsensical, so the credibility of both their testimonies is very low."
Professor Lee Su-jeong of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University is speaking at the 1st meeting of the Special Committee on Sexual Violence Countermeasures of the United Future Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) held at the National Assembly on August 20 last year.

Furthermore, based on DNA matches confirmed four times, Professor Lee said, "It is certain that the deceased child is Seok's daughter," and pointed out, "The DNA does not match with any of the men claiming to be the father. If they had lived a normal family life, what they are saying now is logically impossible, isn't it?"
She added that their lies seem to be "absurd falsehoods to hide the 'missing child,'" emphasizing, "Finding the missing child is actually essential to solving this case or possibly to resolving a larger case related to this family."
