NCSoft Establishes ESG Management Committee... "Securing Sustainable Growth Momentum"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] NCSoft announced on the 15th that it has established the 'ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Management Committee' to strengthen sustainable management.
According to NCSoft, the ESG Management Committee is composed of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Yoon Song-yi as the chairperson, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jung Jin-su, and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Koo Hyun-beom. The newly established ESG Management Office handles the practical work.
NCSoft selected four core areas of ESG management to secure sustainable growth engines: ▲ consideration for future generations ▲ support for socially vulnerable groups ▲ protection of the environmental ecosystem ▲ leadership and ethics in the AI era.
NCSoft continues to provide support and investment for future generations. Since August 2020, the NC Cultural Foundation has been operating the creative activity community ‘Projectory’ in Daehak-ro, Seoul. It offers children opportunities to acquire self-directedness and creativity through various projects.
The NC Cultural Foundation has been conducting a special science program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States for five years targeting marginalized youth care facilities in the Busan area (Boys' Home, Songdo Family, Maria Dream Center). It provides the application ‘My AAC’ for people with communication difficulties and supports Korea’s largest special education teacher community ‘SETEA.net’. Its subsidiary, NCSoft Service, contributes to expanding jobs for vulnerable workers through certification as a subsidiary-type standard workplace for people with disabilities.
NCSoft is also collaborating with the nonprofit international environmental organization ‘ProtectedSeas’ to promote a sustainable Earth. It supports the accurate representation of Korea’s Marine Protected Areas (MPA) maps. The new headquarters, NC Global Research and Development Innovation Center, is being constructed with the goal of achieving the highest level of eco-friendly certification from the design stage.
