[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is recruiting 50 members for the '2021 Gwanak-gu Child Rights Monitoring Group' from March 15 to 26.
The Gwanak-gu Child Rights Monitoring Group is formed as part of the UNICEF Child-Friendly City initiative certified last March, aiming to reflect children's opinions in district administration and promote the enhancement of children's rights.
The recruitment target is children aged 8 to 18 residing in Gwanak-gu or students from 1st grade elementary to 3rd grade high school attending schools within Gwanak-gu.
Once appointed as members, they will carry out monitoring activities from April to December, including ▲ exploring and practicing child rights ▲ child rights campaigns ▲ producing UCCs of their activities, providing opinions and promotional activities on policies and projects from the children's perspective.
Selected members will be awarded a certificate of appointment, their volunteer hours will be recognized, and outstanding members will receive a commendation from the mayor annually.
Children wishing to apply for the monitoring group can download the application form from the district office website (News & Notices → Announcements) and submit it via email (maginegi@ga.go.kr), mail, or in person.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “The Child Rights Monitoring Group is a great opportunity for children to actively participate in district administration by monitoring local policies and projects themselves and discovering new ideas. We hope many children interested will participate and apply.” He added, “We will continue to build a child-friendly city where all children live happily together without discrimination.”
