View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 14th that it has developed the world's first 5G-based smart power distribution diagnosis solution in collaboration with LS Electric and will proceed with a joint business.
The 5G smart power distribution diagnosis solution installs various sensors on high-voltage (over 7000V) and low-voltage (DC 750V, AC 600V or below) distribution panels inside factory and building electrical rooms. The data collected through data acquisition units (DAU) is analyzed and transmitted wirelessly to the control center, providing real-time monitoring of each distribution panel.
The 5G smart power distribution diagnosis solution can easily connect dozens to hundreds of distribution panels with the operation center via a wireless network. It can reduce costs by more than 50% compared to wired networks and monitor the status of distribution panels remotely 24/7, checking for overheating and discharge conditions inside each panel in real time. This helps prevent distribution panel accidents in advance and reduces dangerous electrical work for operators, thereby safely protecting factory facilities.
LG Uplus has pilot-installed and is operating the 5G smart power distribution diagnosis solution at its Incheon Ganseok operation center. In the future, it plans to expand the service to customers and continue developing additional power management solutions in cooperation with LS Electric.
Choi Taekjin, Vice President and Head of LG Uplus Enterprise Division, said, “The introduction of 5G to power facilities can contribute to protecting factory production equipment and establishing a safe working environment, making the collaboration between the two companies very meaningful. We will provide stable quality services to corporate customers who choose the 5G smart power distribution diagnosis solution and continue to cooperate with LS Electric to develop smart factory products.”
