GS Construction Partners with LG Electronics to Build Smart Homes... Services for Residents Starting in June

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] GS Engineering & Construction will provide 'Xi' residents with a service that allows them to control LG Electronics' Internet of Things (IoT) home appliances via smartphone.
GS Engineering & Construction announced on the 12th that it has signed a business agreement with LG Electronics regarding this matter.
According to this business agreement, residents will be able to check the status and control various LG Electronics IoT home appliances through the exclusive smart home app for Xi apartments, 'GS SPACE'.
GS Engineering & Construction has started developing the service based on LG Electronics' ThinQ interworking technology data and plans to provide the service sequentially starting in June.
GS Engineering & Construction introduced the 'Xi AI Platform' in 2019, which can interoperate with all domestic telecommunications companies, and has completed installation in about 50,000 households over two years. The service will be expanded not only to approximately 25,000 households scheduled to move in this year but also to about 20,000 households that moved in in 2018.

A GS Engineering & Construction official said, "In addition to this business agreement, we are working to establish a B2B collaboration system," adding, "We will continuously expand interworking with various IoT device manufacturers, Kakao, telecommunications companies, and other AI devices to provide diverse smart home services."
