KT, Full-Scale Expansion of Business Areas into Digital Logistics and Bio
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT held its regular shareholders' meeting and plans to expand its business areas into digital logistics and bio sectors.
KT announced on the 9th through a public notice of convocation that it will hold the regular shareholders' meeting on the 29th at the KT Research and Development Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
At this shareholders' meeting, KT will present the following agenda items: approval of the 2020 financial statements, partial amendments to the articles of incorporation, appointment of inside and outside directors, and approval of the directors' remuneration limits.
The proposed amendments to the articles of incorporation include adding new business purposes, reflecting legal amendments and revisions, and clarifying the recipients of stock options. Through this meeting, KT plans to add "freight transportation and freight forwarding business" and "manufacture and sale of medical devices" to its business purposes, thereby expanding its business areas.

Additionally, the agenda includes appointing two inside directors and two outside directors. Inside director Kang Gukhyeon, Head of KT Customer Division, will be newly appointed, and Park Jongwook, Head of KT Management Planning Division, will be reappointed. Outside directors Lee Kangcheol and Kim Daeyu are also planned to be reappointed.
