[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that it has been selected for the ‘2021 Labor-Management Win-Win Regional Job Consulting Support Project’ and secured a project fund of 150 million won.
This project, organized by the Korea Labor Foundation under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, supports consulting in various fields such as improving job conditions and sustainable employment to discover labor-management win-win job models suited to local circumstances.
Gwangsan-gu submitted a plan to discover labor-management win-win job models related to the air industry to the organizing institution.
It is a plan reflecting the characteristics of the district, which was selected as a pilot project for the Regional Development Investment Agreement by the National Balanced Development Committee in 2019 and is fostering the air industry with an investment of 18.2 billion won.
Gwangsan-gu believes that these characteristics, along with the fact that about 110 out of 170 air industry product manufacturing companies nationwide are located within the district, received favorable evaluations from the organizing institution.
Gwangsan-gu plans to discover labor-management win-win regional job models by utilizing the results of analyzing and researching employment environments such as the basic status of the air industry, wage levels, and working hours.
Additionally, it plans to conduct public discussion programs to spread the job models to local residents.
To be selected for the regional job consulting support project, Gwangsan-gu formed a collaborative system with the Gwangsan-gu Labor-Management-Civil-Government Council and the Regional Employment Policy Research Institute.
This year, six metropolitan and local governments including Gwangsan-gu were selected nationwide for the support project.
