This is the Jinju-style ‘Happy Dosirak’ delivery campaign.
Happy Dosirak is a kind consumption movement in which office workers contribute from their own pockets to support small business owners who are suffering from a sharp decline in sales due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Small restaurant business owners are facing a severe crisis due to decreased sales caused by the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
Since the end of last year, social distancing measures have been tightened, banning gatherings of five or more people, leading to office workers avoiding dining out, which has deepened the worries of small business owners.
To help these local restaurants that have been directly hit, Jinju City Hall employees have stepped up.
Starting from the 8th, employees at Jinju City Hall will use Happy Dosirak once or twice a week by department, targeting restaurants around City Hall that have experienced a sharp drop in sales and offer delivery services.
In the future, the city plans to discover additional restaurants capable of Happy Dosirak delivery and expand the campaign to public institutions and private companies within the area.
Jinju City plans to actively promote this so that office workers, who have been relatively less affected by COVID-19, can naturally participate directly in overcoming the difficulties faced by local small business owners and overcome adversity together.
Jinju Mayor Cho Kyu-il said, “I hope that this kind consumption movement of ordering Happy Dosirak delivery to local restaurants severely affected by COVID-19 will help increase their sales even a little,” and added, “I also hope that employees of public institutions and private companies actively participate.”
