Government Announces Design Competition for 'National Korean Literature Museum'
Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu Jingwan-dong Construction Project with a Budget of 60.1 Billion Won Underway
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Institute of Architects announced on the 8th that they will hold a domestic and international design competition for the construction of the 'National Korean Literature Museum.'
It is a complex cultural space that collects, preserves, and researches Korean literary heritage, and offers various exhibition and educational programs. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is promoting the construction on a 13,248㎡ site in Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, with a project budget of 60.1 billion KRW. The scheduled opening is in 2024.

Any architect, domestic or international, can participate in the competition. However, those with only foreign architectural licenses must participate jointly with a domestic architect. The registration deadline is next month on the 9th. After technical review and work evaluation, the winning design will be announced on June 18.
