GS25 Consults Franchise Stores with AR... Launches 'GS25 e-Room' App

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS25 announced on the 8th that it has established the industry's first augmented reality (AR) technology-based franchise owner consulting system app, 'GS25 e-Room.'
The content of GS25 e-Room consists of core information such as GS25's differentiated operation strategies and new products. Any GS25 franchise owner can learn this information using just a smartphone. Upon logging into the app, the interior of stores configured as GS25's 2021 strategic model stores and category-specific shelves are augmented as 3D images. When a franchise owner clicks on the category shelf they wish to study, the responsible MD appears on the right side of the screen to guide them through the latest trends, popular products, and new product information along with the shelf.
Since the guidance is provided directly by category experts, the MDs, detailed learning is possible from the planning intent to usage methods. The system also includes a feature that allows each franchise owner to virtually implement the display methods proposed by headquarters in their own stores.
For new and strategic products, GS25 has developed a system where clicking on a product allows 360-degree rotation and zooming in, as well as viewing cross-sections and contents of the product, providing franchise owners with detailed information to quickly decide on product introduction and maximizing content immersion. The content of GS25 e-Room is newly organized each season and will also serve as a real-time communication channel to guide franchise stores on anticipated trending products and issues based on GS25's data analysis.
GS25 plans to operate strategic model stores in line with the content of GS25 e-Room while using them as testbeds to prioritize the introduction of new products and services. They also plan to expand the strategic model stores to about 20 locations in different commercial districts.
