Unprovoked Assault Victim in Chuncheon: "Pulled by Hair and Beaten Brutally"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The police have launched an investigation after a report was received that a man was indiscriminately assaulted on his way home near a university area in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
According to the Chuncheon Police Station and the victim's side on the 7th, the assault occurred around 3:20 a.m. on the 6th in front of a convenience store sidewalk near Gangwon National University Hospital in Hyoja-dong, Chuncheon.
The victim, A (21), claimed that an assailant grabbed his hair, dragged him into a nearby alley, knocked him down, and violently beat him with fists and feet.
At the time, A was trampled and beaten on his legs, arms, and face, but barely regained consciousness and escaped toward a main road.
The victim's side stated, "The perpetrator was about 175?180 cm tall and was not wearing a mask." They added, "Fortunately, he managed to escape; if he had lost consciousness, he might have died due to the severe assault. It was a random, unprovoked attack targeting an unspecified person."
