5 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Busan... Vaccination Rate at 41%
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] Busan City announced on the 6th that 5 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. One person was confirmed positive during a test before release from quarantine as a contact of an existing confirmed case.
The other 3 cases have unknown sources of infection, and health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations. One acquaintance of a confirmed case from Gyeonggi Province was also confirmed positive.
Haedong Hospital in Yeongdo-gu, which had been under cohort quarantine due to a cluster infection, conducted mass testing before release from quarantine, and all 518 patients and staff tested negative. Accordingly, the hospital was released from cohort quarantine at noon on the same day.
Similarly, SongSan Senior Care Center in Jung-gu also conducted mass testing before release from quarantine, and all 62 residents and staff tested negative, leading to release from cohort quarantine at noon on the same day.
As a result, there are currently no nursing facilities or hospitals under cohort quarantine in Busan.
There were no 'n-th generation infections' related to the Busan Gamcheon Port stevedores union on this day.
Health authorities announced that temporary screening clinics in Busanjin-gu, Yeonje-gu, Busan Station, and a mobile temporary screening clinic in Yeongdo-gu will operate until the 7th.
A Busan city official said, "We plan to actively operate mobile temporary screening clinics that visit sites requiring proactive testing," and added, "Testing will continue at public health center screening clinics."
Busan City is accelerating COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Among the total 60,198 registered for vaccination in Busan, 24,696 have completed vaccination, showing an average vaccination rate of 41%.
The number of adverse reaction reports yesterday was 52 cases, mostly mild symptoms such as muscle pain and fever. The cumulative number of adverse reaction reports is 158.
