'Introduction' Hong Sangsoo Wins Best Screenplay Award at Berlin Film Festival
Following Last Year's Best Director Award, Trophy Won Two Years in a Row
Director Hong Sangsoo lifted the trophy at the Berlin International Film Festival for the second consecutive year.
On the 5th (local time), at the conclusion of the 71st Berlin International Film Festival, Director Hong received the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay for the film Introduction. Following last year's Best Director award for The Woman Who Ran, he won again for two years in a row.
Introduction is Hong's twenty-fifth feature film. It highlights the journey of a young man, Youngho, as he seeks out his father, lover, and mother, divided into three segments. The cast includes Shin Seokho, Park Miso, Ye Ji-won, Ki Ju-bong, Seo Young-hwa, Kim Minhee, and Jo Yoonhee. The film premiered in the competition section of this festival and received praise from international media.

Director Hong has a deep connection with the Berlin Film Festival. Five of his works have been invited to the competition section: Night and Day, Our Sunhi, On the Beach at Night Alone, The Woman Who Ran, and Introduction. Notably, On the Beach at Night Alone earned Kim Minhee the Silver Bear for Best Actress.
