Mayor Kwon made this remark after attending the regular assembly held at the city hall annex in the morning, encouraging staff by saying, "With the start of vaccination, the war against COVID-19 is entering a new phase. Let's break through the thick ice of COVID-19 and carefully manage the tasks we planned and scheduled."
The regular assembly of Daegu City was held for the first time in four months since early November. Mayor Kwon's announcement to be vaccinated first was made possible as the scope of 'COVID-19 first responders' was recently expanded, allowing him to do so as the head of Daegu City's Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
