Assemblyman Kim Du-kwan Secures Special Education Fund from Ministry of Education to Improve Educational Environment at Yangsan Jungbu Elementary School
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Representative Kim Du-gwan (Democratic Party of Korea, Yangsan Eul) announced on the 5th that he secured 1.624 billion KRW in special education funds from the Ministry of Education to improve the educational environment and renovate aging facilities at Jungbu Elementary School in Yangsan, Gyeongnam.
Jungbu Elementary School, located in Yangju-dong, has buildings over 20 years old since its opening, and the aging of educational facilities has rapidly progressed, raising continuous concerns about safety issues.
In particular, the aging classroom doors have not been operating smoothly, and safety accidents such as students' fingers getting caught frequently occurred when entering and exiting.
Additionally, the current wooden classroom floors have become worn over decades, causing splinters and lifting, which greatly increases the possibility of safety accidents such as students' feet getting caught, making comprehensive repair and renovation urgently needed.
Representative Kim has been continuously discussing with the Yangsan Office of Education to improve the educational environment in Yangsan, and especially focused efforts ahead of the selection for the Ministry of Education's special grant support project in the first half of this year.
