[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Pfizer's 'Comirnaty' has become the second COVID-19 vaccine to receive product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in South Korea.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Commissioner Kim Gang-lip) held a final review committee meeting including external experts on the 5th and announced that it decided to approve the product license for Pfizer Korea's COVID-19 vaccine 'Comirnaty', which was applied for import product approval on January 25, on the condition that the final clinical trial report and other documents be submitted.

The final review committee also judged that it is appropriate to approve the vaccine for individuals aged 16 and older, consistent with the results of two previous advisory meetings regarding the efficacy and effectiveness for those aged 16 and above.
