E&Corporation Acquires Semiconductor Ultrapure Water Equipment Company Hanseong Cleantec
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] EN Corporation plans to become the number one company in the industrial water treatment sector this year through mergers and acquisitions.
EN Corporation announced on the 5th that it has selected the environment and renewable energy sectors as future new growth businesses and will acquire Hansung Cleantec, the leading company in semiconductor ultrapure water facilities.
Hansung Cleantec is an EPC specialized company that provides one-stop services for the design (Engineering), procurement (Procurement), and construction (Construction) of water treatment facilities such as ultrapure water, wastewater, industrial water, and wastewater required in semiconductor processes. Hansung Cleantec's sales have grown at an average annual rate of 14% over the past four years. Last year's sales amounted to 110.7 billion KRW, a 20% increase compared to the previous year.
Based on over 30 years of construction experience, it possesses top-level ultrapure water treatment process technology essential for the semiconductor and electronics industries in Korea. It has secured major corporations such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix as clients.
Unlike competitors who can only undertake individual construction projects for ultrapure water treatment facilities or wastewater treatment and recycling facilities, Hansung Cleantec provides the entire water treatment process connecting ultrapure water to wastewater. Additionally, it is capable of connected piping construction and seawater electrolysis facility construction.
Approximately 76% of the total employees hold certifications such as master technicians, engineers, industrial engineers, and skilled technicians.
The industrial water treatment market is expanding not only due to the expansion of production lines in the semiconductor and electronics industries but also into the pharmaceutical, bio, and petrochemical industries. In pharmaceutical and bio processes, issues related to production quality control caused by microorganisms and salt inflow may arise, while in petrochemical and other plant processes, quality control issues such as physical property changes due to impurities can occur. Hansung Cleantec expects sales exceeding 120 billion KRW this year, supported by market expansion.
