On this day, the People Power Party's nomination management committee revealed that in the Seoul mayoral primary held over two days on the 2nd and 3rd through public opinion polls, former Mayor Oh Se-hoon received the highest vote share at 41.64%. He was followed by former lawmaker Na Kyung-won with 36.31%, Seocho District Mayor Cho Eun-hee with 16.47%, and former lawmaker Oh Shin-hwan with 10.39%.
In the Busan mayoral primary, Professor Park Hyung-joon surpassed the majority with 54.40%, followed by former Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Park Seong-hoon with 28.63%, and former lawmaker Lee Eon-ju with 21.54%.
This primary was conducted entirely through general public opinion polling. The final vote tally included a 10% bonus for women and newcomers. Although former Mayor Oh was reportedly behind former lawmaker Na in the preliminary round, he succeeded in a dramatic comeback in the final round.
Oh, who became the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor 10 years after resigning from the position, choked up during his acceptance speech. He said, "As a mayor who could not complete his term, I have lived with feelings of guilt and self-reproach for 10 years. This election is a crossroads deciding whether to save the Republic of Korea or let it collapse as it is. I believe this election must be one where the warning message resonating deeply in the hearts of the people pierces the chest of the Moon Jae-in administration." He later returned to the microphone, saying he had not been able to thank the candidates who ran alongside him.
Professor Park also said, "We must not forget why this election is being held. I deeply felt on the ground how angry and disappointed citizens are with the four years of the Moon Jae-in administration and its reckless governance. I believe this election must serve as a brake on that recklessness."

Chairman Kim said, "People have many doubts about whether this government truly has the capability to govern the country," adding, "The state affairs are chaotic, and the government is operating in a way that makes the future completely unpredictable." He continued, "I am confident that the People Power Party will definitely win the by-elections, and only by winning can we make a significant mark in the future politics of our country. Although there are various efforts to artificially extend the administration in one way or another, I believe the voters in Seoul and Busan will produce wise results."
