The opening ceremony will be attended by Kang Seong-jo, Deputy Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, Lee Man-hee, Member of the National Assembly, and Lee Seok-haeng, Chairman of Korea Polytechnic University.
Korea Polytechnic University is a public vocational education university in Korea that has produced over 2.3 million skilled industrial workers, operating 8 universities and 35 campuses nationwide. In Gyeongbuk, there are 4 campuses including the newly opened Robot Campus.
The Polytechnic University Robot Campus is the only robot-specialized university in Korea established to train experts in the 'robot new industry field,' a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Starting with a feasibility study in 2013, construction began in January 2018, completed in January 2020, received university establishment approval from the Ministry of Education in June 2020, and held its opening ceremony on March 2, 2021.

Kang Seong-jo, Deputy Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, emphasized, "The university must research practical academic fields needed by the region and share and utilize its capabilities together with the region," adding, "I hope the Robot Campus will become the center for training robot convergence production technology personnel leading Gyeongbuk's new future."
