Gyeongbuk Yeongcheon Racecourse Park to Start Construction Soon... Korea Racing Authority to Begin Obstacle Removal in March

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The 'Yeongcheon Racecourse Park' development project, to be established in the Geumho-eup and Cheongtong-myeon areas of Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk, is set to accelerate.
According to Yeongcheon City on the 28th, the Korea Racing Authority sent a working team including the construction department head to the site on the 25th to conduct a preliminary survey for the removal of houses and other obstacles. The removal work will begin in the first half of the year.
Before the construction starts, a tripartite working team consisting of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Yeongcheon City, and the Korea Racing Authority will hold a project implementation consultation in March to discuss detailed plans such as cultural heritage surveys and building permits.
Mayor Choi Ki-moon stated, "We are fully committed to swiftly carrying out all preliminary procedures to ensure the early commencement of the racecourse park," adding, "We will do our best to minimize any inconvenience to citizens during the project implementation."
Meanwhile, the Korea Racing Authority, which began designing the Yeongcheon Racecourse Park in 2018, plans to develop the racecourse park on approximately 1.45 million square meters (440,000 pyeong) in Seongcheon-ri and Daemi-ri of Geumho-eup, and Daepyeong-ri of Cheongtong-myeon, with a total project cost of 365.7 billion KRW.
