299 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide by 6 PM... 4 More Than Yesterday
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Even on the 26th, when COVID-19 vaccinations began, confirmed cases are surging across the country.
According to health authorities and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, a total of 299 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide.
This is an increase of 4 cases compared to the 295 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
By region, the metropolitan area accounted for 244 cases (81.6%), and non-metropolitan areas accounted for 55 cases (18.4%). By city and province, there were 115 cases in Gyeonggi, 103 in Seoul, 26 in Incheon, 15 in Jeonbuk, 9 in Busan, 6 each in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, 5 in Gangwon, 4 in Gwangju, 3 each in Ulsan and Jeonnam, 2 in Chungbuk, and 1 each in Gyeongnam and Chungnam.

Among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, no confirmed cases have yet been reported in Daejeon, Sejong, and Jeju. The number of new confirmed cases to be announced at midnight on the 27th, when the tally is finalized, is expected to be around 400.
