Muan-gun Begins 'Vaccine Inoculation' for High-Risk Groups

The vaccination targets include 1,065 residents and workers under 65 years old in 20 facilities, consisting of 5 nursing hospitals and 15 nursing facilities.
Prior to this, the county surveyed 1,077 residents and workers under 65 years old in nursing hospitals and facilities to determine their consent for vaccination, resulting in 1,065 people, or 98.8%, agreeing.
The vaccination will be conducted in two rounds: the first dose between March and April, and the second dose between April and May. Nursing hospitals will establish and carry out their own vaccination plans, while vaccination teams from the responsible public health centers will visit nursing facilities to administer the vaccines.
The county plans to sequentially vaccinate high-risk medical institution workers and first responders to COVID-19 following nursing hospitals and facilities, in accordance with the government's vaccine supply schedule.
From May onwards, vaccinations will be administered to 19,028 people including seniors aged 65 and older, medical institution and pharmacy workers, persons with disabilities, and homeless shelter residents. After July, vaccinations will be given to 54,836 people aged 19 to under 65, totaling 70,068 people to receive vaccinations.
The vaccine to be used in this vaccination campaign is the AstraZeneca vaccine, which was first supplied on the 25th to three locations including public health centers and nursing hospitals through distributors, and supply to three additional nursing hospitals will be completed on the 26th.

Governor Kim San stated, “Since this is the first vaccination in Muan, we have thoroughly prepared, including having ambulances on standby to respond to any adverse reactions, to ensure safety,” and added, “More than 70% of the residents need to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity, so we ask for active participation and cooperation in the vaccination.”
