Welcron, Sales Reach 123.7 Billion Won... 'Record High Performance'
Last Year Separate Basis Sales 123.7 Billion KRW, Operating Profit 17.7 Billion KRW
Sales and Operating Profit Increased by 20.8% and 156.8% Respectively Compared to Previous Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Welcron recorded its highest-ever performance last year despite the impact of COVID-19.
On the 25th, Welcron announced that its sales revenue for last year, based on separate accounting standards, increased by 20.8% compared to the previous year, reaching 123.7 billion KRW.
Operating profit was recorded at 17.7 billion KRW, a 156.8% increase. Both sales revenue and operating profit achieved record highs. Net profit turned positive from a deficit to 11.2 billion KRW.
Welcron's Living Division achieved performance at the 2019 level despite a decrease in offline distribution channels due to the impact of COVID-19 last year. In particular, the Industrial Materials Division realized record-high sales due to increased performance in mask MB filters and bulletproof plates. As a result, Welcron surpassed 100 billion KRW in sales on a separate basis for two consecutive years.
Welcron explained that it expanded its factories last year to meet the rapidly increased demand for mask MB filters, resulting in more than double sales compared to the previous year in the MB filter sector. Additionally, it added that record-high performance was driven by increased production through the expansion and relocation of the composite materials center in the defense sector and expanded orders for bulletproof plates.
