[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it will provide 300,000 KRW per person for school uniform purchase expenses to high school freshmen and first-year transfer students.
Last year, the city supported 6459 middle school students with 1.9 billion KRW for school uniforms. This year, the support has been expanded to high school students, providing a total of 3.5 billion KRW to approximately 11,870 middle and high school students.
The support targets new students and first-year transfer students enrolled in middle and high schools who have an address in Gimhae City. Support is available even if they enroll in schools outside the jurisdiction or in unlicensed alternative schools.
The application period is from March 2 to November 30, with concentrated applications accepted during the month of March.
For students entering schools within the jurisdiction, applications are submitted through the respective schools. Students attending schools outside the jurisdiction or unlicensed alternative schools must apply individually through the administrative welfare centers of their local eup, myeon, or dong.
