Seoul Jung-gu Supports Up to 450,000 Won for Rent Brokerage Fees for Low-Income Residents
All real estate agencies in the area available for low-income residents including Cha-sangwi, recipients, elderly living alone, and single-parent families... Brokerage fees up to 450,000 KRW supported without deposit limit for residential lease contracts
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Seoyangho) is expanding the project that supports brokerage fees for low-income residents.
Since 2019 until last year, the district has been striving to reduce the burden of brokerage fees for low-income residents through talent donation by local real estate agencies.
Free brokerage through talent donation requires voluntary participation from brokers, but only 117 agencies in the area participated, accounting for just 20% of all agencies, resulting in low service performance.
This year, the system has been improved so that all low-income residents can benefit without exception, and the district will directly support brokerage fees.
The target has been expanded to include basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, elderly living alone, child-headed households, as well as residents struggling to make a living due to business failure.
The previous limit of 120 million KRW on jeonse or monthly rent deposits has been removed, and brokerage fees incurred when signing jeonse or monthly rental contracts will be supported up to a maximum of 450,000 KRW.
The service can be used at all real estate agencies in the area, applicable from January 1 of this year based on the balance payment date, and only if the move-in is registered. However, facilities not used for residential purposes, such as public rental housing and goshiwon, are excluded.
Applications can be submitted to the local community service center or the district land management department with the support application form, a copy of the lease contract, proof of eligibility, and brokerage fee receipt at the time of move-in registration. Eligibility will be reviewed before support is provided.
For more details, please contact the Land Management Department.
