Yeosu City Initiates Plans for Mutual Development Between Local Areas and Industrial Complexes
Yeosu City and Yeosu Sandan Joint Development Council Hold Regular General Meeting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 23rd that it held the ‘Yeosu CityㆍYeosu Industrial Complex Joint Development Council Regular General Meeting’ to discuss mutual cooperation and joint development plans between the local community and companies located in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex.
Twenty-five members of the Yeosu CityㆍYeosu Industrial Complex Joint Development Council (hereafter ‘Joint Development Council’) attended the regular general meeting held in the city hall conference room to evaluate last year’s business performance and discuss and approve projects to be promoted this year.
At the regular general meeting, the Joint Development Council discussed promoting various projects to enable the region and the industrial complex to grow together and to create a business-friendly environment.
The main projects to be promoted include revitalizing community contribution projects, establishing infrastructure to activate corporate management, promoting the Yeosu Industrial Complex companies’ local love movement, conducting environmental safety campaigns, and operating industrial complex experience programs for local youth.
Although the industrial complex economy has been difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, especially this year, with the completion of large-scale investments that began in 2019, it is judged that the economy will recover, and the parties agreed to cooperate to ensure that large-scale social contribution projects desired by the local community can bear fruit.
Chairman Kwon Oh-bong emphasized, “Although the situation is difficult both domestically and internationally due to COVID-19 and other factors, let us gather the wisdom and capabilities of the Joint Development Council members to strive for coexistence between the region and the industrial complex,” and pledged, “The city will also strive to promote various projects related to the industrial complex in a balanced manner to make Yeosu a city that is good for businesses and a good place for workers to work.”
