Muan Police Arrest Intoxicated Passenger for Assaulting Bus Driver Who Demanded "Wear a Mask"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Muan Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Yoon Hu-ui) arrested and detained a man in his 30s who caused a disturbance to the bus driver and passengers after being stopped from boarding a bus without wearing a mask.
According to the Muan Police Station on the 22nd, they apprehended and investigated Mr. A on charges of assaulting the bus driver and passengers on the 17th (violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, assault on a driver).
Mr. A is accused of extinguishing a cigarette and hitting the bus driver's head with a wooden stick after being asked to wear a mask while the bus was stopped at a bus stop in Muan-gun around 5 p.m. on the 16th to allow passengers to board and alight. He also sprayed a powder fire extinguisher on seven passengers on board.
Additionally, after assaulting the bus driver, Mr. A caused a commotion by breaking the bus window with an emergency escape hammer provided on the bus.
