Boseong-gun Selected as Finalist for Jeonnam Population New Hope Project Competition
Creation of Youth Mall in Boseong Local Market... 50 Youth Jobs and 1 Billion KRW Increase in Market Sales Target
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun announced on the 22nd that it has been finally selected for this year’s “Jeonnam Population, Finding New Hope Project” contest hosted by Jeollanam-do, securing a total project fund of 300 million KRW, the highest amount at the city/county level.
To attract and stabilize the settlement of young population, Boseong-gun plans to establish the ‘BS Blue-market (Boseong Hyangto Market Youth Mall)’ within Boseong Hyangto Market, opening 10 stores operated by young entrepreneurs.
Additionally, through one Youth Job Center, operation of startup programs, and support for youth job startup funds, the county will help young people run their businesses without failure.
With the promotion of this contest project, Boseong-gun aims to create 50 youth jobs and increase the Hyangto Market sales by more than 1 billion KRW, accelerating the establishment of the youth mall.
In particular, priority support will be given to youth mall tenants through Boseong-gun’s own project, the ‘Boseong Youth Startup SHOP Project,’ to ensure the youth mall operates stably in its early stages and grows intensively.
The Boseong Hyangto Market Youth Mall construction project will begin next month, with construction expected to be completed around July. Applicants will be recruited in July, and the mall will open by the end of the year.
A county official stated, “We will actively promote the project to become a successful role model for young generation inflow and settlement projects,” adding, “As a policy to respond to Boseong-gun’s population of 30,000, we will practically improve jobs, residential conditions, and childcare environment to also focus on population inflow.”
Boseong-gun is attracting various contest projects such as the Youth Blue Village Construction Project, Multi-Tea Culture Village Construction Project, and Public Rental Housing Project to encourage population inflow and prevent outflow. It is also promoting various projects to support youth startups and jobs, including the Boseong Youth Startup SHOP Project, Youth Blue Job, and Youth Retention Incentive Support.
Meanwhile, the ‘Jeonnam Population Finding New Hope Project’ is a project designed to respond to regional population issues such as low birthrate, aging, and youth population outflow, and to create and operate various creative spaces and programs for young people by utilizing idle spaces to attract and settle a sustainable and healthy population structure.
