MP Hangang Nears Entry into China's Largest Online Mall 'Tmall Global'... "Hygiene Approval Expected in First Half"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] MP Hangang announced on the 22nd that it expects to obtain hygiene approval from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) for its main line of color cosmetics within the first half of this year and plans to begin full-scale local distribution in China.
To meet the potential demand for cosmetics among Chinese consumers, MP Hangang plans to focus on activating purchases through extensive promotion and marketing suited to the untact (contactless) era, and has secured online distribution channels for this purpose.
MP Hangang has tentatively confirmed the opening of a flagship store for its color cosmetics brand LilybyRed on China’s largest online shopping mall, Tmall Global. Once the hygiene approval is obtained, the company plans to launch full-scale services. Tmall Global is a brand mall overseas direct purchase platform affiliated with Alibaba Group, China’s largest e-commerce company.

An MP Hangang company representative stated, "If our color cosmetics enter the Chinese market through reasonable pricing via both online and offline distribution channels, they will sufficiently appeal to the growing Chinese cosmetics market.
