Netmarble Acquires US Indie Game Developer 'Kungfu Factory'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Netmarble announced on the 22nd that it has acquired the largest stake in the American indie game developer 'Kung Fu Factory.' The acquisition was made by Netmarble's North American subsidiary, and Kung Fu Factory will be incorporated as a subsidiary of this entity.
Founded in 2002 in Los Angeles, USA, Kung Fu Factory is an indie game developer known for creating mobile games such as 'WWE Champions.' Currently, it is developing 'NBA Ball Stars,' Netmarble North America's first self-published game utilizing the NBA IP (intellectual property).
Netmarble previously stated in its Q4 earnings report last year that 'NBA Ball Stars' would be globally released in the first quarter of this year.
Further details regarding the collaboration between the two companies will be disclosed at a later date.
