Gimhae City Supports Installation Costs for Gas Station Vapor Recovery Systems... Up to 50%
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting a support project for vapor recovery system installation targeting small-scale gas stations.
Since the enforcement of the Special Act on Air Quality Improvement in April last year, the mandatory installation area for vapor recovery systems has expanded from the existing eastern areas (excluding Jangyu) to the entire Gimhae City. Accordingly, gas stations with an annual gasoline sales volume of 300㎥ or more are required to install the system between 2022 and 2023.
The city will provide installation cost support to about 34 gas stations with a project budget of 270 million KRW this year.
The support targets are gas stations located in Jangyu 1, 2, and 3-dong, and eup/myeon areas that were operating as of April 3, 2020, with an annual gasoline sales volume between 300㎥ and less than 2000㎥ based on 2018 data.
Gas stations with less than 300㎥ sales can also receive support if they wish to install the system. Stations with 2000㎥ or more, company-operated gas stations, and those operated by medium-sized or larger enterprises are excluded.
The support amount is 600,000 to 1,250,000 KRW per nozzle for individual fueling facilities (up to 8 units), and 3,000,000 to 5,000,000 KRW for centralized fueling facilities (1 unit), with 30% to 50% of installation costs supported depending on the early installation period.
Applications for the project can be submitted in person or by mail to the Gimhae City Climate and Air Quality Division from today until March 8.
