Former Senior Secretary Kang Ki-jung Draws Attention to 'Honam Region Metropolitan Transportation Network'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kang Ki-jung, former Senior Secretary for Political Affairs at the Blue House, who is strongly linked as the next candidate for mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, is set to reveal plans regarding the ‘Honam Metropolitan Transportation Network,’ drawing significant attention.
According to The Cube Policy Research Institute on the 21st, the second topic of the 5-million metropolitan economic zone coexistence story, the Honam Metropolitan Transportation Network ZOOM video conference, will be live-streamed on YouTube at 11 a.m. on the 22nd.
At this meeting, former Senior Secretary Kang will deliver a keynote speech under the theme ‘The Gateway-Connection-Future of the Honam Metropolitan Transportation Network Opened by the H-way Hydrogen Road.’
Last November, Kang proposed a big deal for the integrated airport aimed at greater benefits for Gwangju and Jeonnam, which caused a significant stir.
At this meeting, Kang is expected to propose the prompt promotion of the ‘Gwangju-Suncheon Gyeongjeon Line high-speed railway’ and the introduction of the ‘hydrogen tram electrification between Gwangju Station and Gwangju Songjeong Station.’
Along with this, the metropolitan transportation network for the 5-million metropolitan economic zone will evaluate projects such as the ‘Jeolla Line high-speed railway’ and other projects from the Honam region that are being requested for inclusion in the 4th National Railroad Network Plan.
