Chairman Kim: "We will create a plan to restore the natural state of the Four Major Rivers that earns public trust"
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] The Ministry of Environment held the 2nd appointment ceremony for the 'Four Major Rivers Investigation and Evaluation Planning Committee and Expert Committee' on the afternoon of the 19th at the Government Complex Sejong.
The Ministry of Environment formed the Planning and Expert Committees by comprehensively considering expertise in each field, balanced representation by sector, and continuity of work, based on recommendations from related ministries, affiliated organizations, and groups.
The Planning Committee consists of a total of 15 members, including 8 appointed members and 7 ex officio members, and coordinates and evaluates major tasks of the Investigation and Evaluation Team.
The Expert Committee (total 39 members) is composed of four divisions: water environment, hydraulics and hydrology, watershed cooperation, and social and economic sectors, conducting detailed reviews in each subdivision.
Professor Kim Jwa-gwan of Busan Catholic University was appointed as the co-chairman of the 2nd Planning and Expert Committees. The ex officio chairman is Park Mi-ja, head of the Ministry of Environment’s Four Major Rivers Investigation and Evaluation Team.
