Yeosu-si Promotes Advance Reporting System for Accommodation Fees to Prevent Lodging Complaints
Expectations for Resolving Inconvenience Complaints from Citizens and Tourists and Fostering a Healthy Lodging Culture
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 18th that it will promote the ‘Advance Reporting System for Accommodation Fees’ to prevent complaints caused by high accommodation fees during peak seasons and to foster a healthy accommodation culture.
The Advance Reporting System for Accommodation Fees is a system where business owners report their usage fees to the city in advance and comply with the publicly announced rates, aiming to resolve inconveniences for citizens and tourists such as complaints about overcharging and reservation refusals.
The city will operate a concentrated application period from the 22nd to April 21st to activate the advance reporting system.
Applications for advance reporting can be submitted to the Korea Accommodation Central Association Jeonnam Southern Branch (Yeosu Accommodation Association) or the city’s Food Hygiene Division, and for island areas, applications can be submitted to the respective eup/myeon offices.
The city plans to produce and provide accommodation fee tables reported in advance for each business and guide them to post the fee tables at the entrance of the establishments so that citizens and tourists can easily see them.
The status of advance reporting by each business can be checked on the Yeosu City Culture and Tourism website, and the data will be regularly updated on the accommodation app Yeosu-ya (夜) to actively promote participating businesses.
