Kibo Signs Agreement with Korea Startup Education Council to Establish University Technology Startup Network
Leading the Innovation Startup Ecosystem: Fostering Talent for Tech Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 19th that it signed an agreement in Daejeon Metropolitan City with the Korea Startup Education Council (Chairman Lee Dong-hee, hereinafter referred to as the Council) and 19 participating universities to establish a university technology startup network for nurturing technology startup talent, and held a workshop to discuss detailed implementation plans.
Through the agreement, participating organizations agreed to strive for operating educational programs to nurture university technology startup personnel, jointly hosting and participating in university technology startup network events, and running mentoring and consulting programs to revitalize technology startups. At the workshop, discussions were held on plans to nurture technology startup talent leading the innovative startup ecosystem centered on the newly launched university technology startup network, as well as ways to activate university technology startups.
Since November last year, Kibo and the Council combined their expertise to sign a business agreement on university technology startup education to activate technology startups among university students and foster future young entrepreneurs. They have formed a team of professional instructors to jointly research educational content development and lesson plan preparation. Kibo plans to support the enhancement of university startup education and the activation of technology startups by regularizing lectures and mentoring from in-house doctoral-level experts starting from the new semester in March this year for technology startup courses opened on a credit system at participating universities.

Kim Young-chun, a director at Kibo, said, "With the establishment of the university technology startup network, it is expected to contribute to creating a youth startup ecosystem within universities through the technology startup talent nurturing education programs of participating institutions." He added, "Kibo will continue to actively work to nurture prepared young entrepreneurs and create jobs by utilizing human resources such as talent donations from doctoral-level professionals."
