50 Villages Selected... 3 Million Won Support Annually for 3 Years

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim San) announced on the 18th that it will actively promote the ‘Creating Clean Jeonnam’s Best Villages’ project, where local residents participate proactively to improve village landscapes.
The Creating Clean Jeonnam’s Best Villages project is being implemented for the first time this year across 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam. It aims to realize a clean Jeonnam and revitalize local communities by supporting village beautification projects in two areas: village environment cleanup and landscape improvement.
Villages wishing to participate must submit a project plan to their respective eup/myeon offices by the 25th. After 50 best villages are finally selected by Jeonnam Province in March, the county plans to officially start the project in April. Villages selected this year will receive 3 million KRW annually for three years, totaling 9 million KRW by 2023.
Additionally, among the best villages selected this year, two villages from each eup/myeon, totaling 18 villages, will be recommended for on-site evaluation. Five outstanding villages will be chosen and provided with additional incentives.
Governor Kim San stated, “Through this project, we will spread the resident-led awareness of ‘I cultivate my village,’ breathe new life into village communities that have been stagnant due to COVID-19, and create a beautiful clean Jeonnam and the Hwangtogol Muan.”

Meanwhile, Muan-gun plans to carry out the Creating Clean Jeonnam’s Best Villages project targeting 150 villages within the county over five years from this year until 2025.
