Building Permit Processing Time Reduced... Bucheon City Improves from Individual Review to Integrated One-Stop Review
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that it will improve the architectural permit review process from individual reviews to an integrated one-stop review to provide convenience to construction stakeholders struggling due to COVID-19.
Until now, despite being the same review subject, individual reviews were conducted by each committee such as the Landscape, Architecture, and Traffic Committees according to relevant laws, resulting in long processing times for permits and causing economic burdens. Frequent committee meetings also increased the workload fatigue of the members.
Accordingly, the city selected about 20 additional members and changed the timing of the Architectural Structure Committee's review from post-permit to pre-permit, integrating various committees to conduct a consolidated review.
The city expects this to shorten the construction period by about 3 to 5 months, alleviating the time and economic burdens of construction stakeholders, and reducing unnecessary review sessions to improve administrative efficiency.
This improved review plan will be proposed upon requests for integrated reviews and is scheduled to be implemented starting with applications received in March.
