According to Daegu City, the initial vaccination targets are approximately 10,000 inpatients, residents, and workers under the age of 65 at about 210 nursing hospitals, nursing facilities, and mental health and rehabilitation facilities. The registration of vaccination candidates in the system and consent verification are currently underway.
The AstraZeneca vaccine will be administered once from the 26th to March 10, followed by a second dose around April. Facilities with medical staff, such as nursing hospitals, will conduct vaccinations on-site, while nursing facilities will have vaccinations administered by their contracted physicians and visiting teams from public health centers.
In March, vaccinations will be given to about 22,000 high-risk medical institution workers and first responders to COVID-19. General citizens will be able to receive vaccinations starting in July at eight regional vaccination centers and approximately 800 designated medical institutions, depending on vaccine supply conditions.
To ensure safe vaccination, Daegu City has been conducting online training for participating medical staff since the 8th. On the 18th, clinical practice training on vaccine prevention vaccination will be held for vaccination nurses at the Daegu City Nursing Association Education Center. On the 19th, Daegu’s military and police will participate together in a nationwide integrated simulation drill related to transportation, storage, and distribution.
