The film, shot in black and white, depicts the process of scholar Jeong Yak-jeon, exiled to Heuksando Island, and young fisherman Chang-dae, who wants to escape the sea and start a new life, becoming friends while writing the ichthyology book "Jasan Eobo." It is expected to convey deep empathy and resonance through their exchange beyond social status and age. Jeong Yak-jeon is played by Seol Kyung-gu, and Chang-dae is portrayed by Byeon Yo-han.
