Homeplus Express Sees Sales Increase in Fresh and Ready-to-Eat Food Sections... Plans Further Expansion
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Homeplus Express announced on the 17th that its fresh and ready-to-eat food specialty stores, which operate by renewing existing stores, are recording high sales growth rates.
According to Homeplus, among the 342 Express stores nationwide, 103 stores were converted and operated as fresh and ready-to-eat food specialty stores, resulting in an average cumulative sales increase of about 15% compared to before the conversion. This was achieved by expanding the product assortment of fresh foods and ready-to-eat meals to meet the needs of customers visiting neighborhood supermarkets, while adjusting the number of non-food products.
Homeplus Express plans to convert an additional 50 stores within this year and operate 250 out of the 342 Express stores nationwide as fresh and ready-to-eat food specialty stores by 2023.
