According to Yeongdeok-gun, attracting numerous training teams even amid COVID-19 is revitalizing the local economy.
On the 16th, Yeongdeok-gun reported that recently, about 1,200 players from 40 teams, including elementary, middle, high school, and university soccer teams as well as university baseball teams, participated in winter training. They trained diligently from January to February 16 at venues such as Ganggu Snow Crab Soccer Stadium, Yeonghae Sports Park, and Changpo Sunrise Soccer Stadium.
Yeongdeok-gun and the Yeongdeok-gun Football Association mandated all players to submit negative COVID-19 test certificates and participant lists in advance. Additionally, they unified exclusive stadium entrances to conduct temperature checks and manage entry personnel to ensure safe training.
Since the end of last year, the number of participants in winter training camps, including players, has reached approximately 18,000. The direct economic effect, including accommodation and meal expenses, is estimated to exceed 1 billion KRW.
