SK Inno Starts 2021 New Employee Training Untact
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Innovation announced on the 16th that despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting frozen job market and management crisis, it has successfully completed the recruitment of new employees and started the new employee training program.
SK Innovation has been recognized for proactively utilizing Digital Transformation and actively reflecting social distancing policies due to COVID-19 through untact (non-face-to-face) recruitment. The 2021 new employee training is also being conducted mainly through non-face-to-face online education considering the COVID-19 situation. About 110 new SK Innovation employees, who completed the 10-day SK Group online training earlier, will receive SK Innovation affiliate new employee training for about four weeks from January 18 to February 17.
On the first day of training, January 18, new employees took their first step as SK Innovation members by receiving their employee ID cards at the SK Seorin Building (located in Jongno-gu, Seoul), where SK Innovation headquarters is located. On this day, the new employees met their colleagues for the first time, whom they had not met during the untact recruitment process, and spent time understanding each other.
From January 19, SK Innovation has been conducting new employee training online. An essential gateway to becoming SK Innovation people equipped with a professional mindset! The training courses to understand SK Innovation and its subsidiaries' businesses and to develop DT capabilities were conducted in an online live format via the video meeting platform Webex.
SK Innovation’s current non-face-to-face education consists of various programs, including online lectures to enhance understanding of the company’s vision and each business, project presentations linked to each business, feedback from responsible executives, and the CDS (Citizen Data Scientist) course to improve new employees’ DT capabilities. Some basic AI/DT competency subjects and essential SK Innovation affiliate courses to become SK Innovation people are available through the mySUNI platform, which allows voluntary and autonomous learning tailored to the characteristics of the MZ generation.
In particular, the Green Balance Workshop was newly established in this training course to enhance understanding and facilitate easy acquisition of knowledge about 'Green Balance 2030,' which SK Innovation is promoting as part of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management, through online lectures.

Programs reflecting the tendencies of the MZ generation, such as shared online meals, home training, and cooking shows, were prepared so that new employees could enjoy participating online. New employees actively participated by following exercises while watching live broadcasts and communicating interactively through comments. Additionally, they had time to ask questions directly about company life and have candid conversations through online talks with training supervisors.
