Dallisalda, 250% Annual Sales Growth with Keywords 'Animal Welfare·Antibiotic-Free'
This Year Sales Up 250%, Paid Membership Subscribers Increase 213%
Top Sales Categories 'Gyeran' and 'Uyu'... Up 460% and 325% Respectively
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The organic product specialty online mall 'Dalli Salda' announced on the 15th that its sales this year have increased by 250% compared to the initial opening period.
Operated by GS Retail, Dalli Salda revealed that total sales from the beginning of this year until the 14th have risen by 250% compared to the same period after opening (November 1 to December 15). The number of paid membership subscribers for 'Dalli Dream' increased by 213%.
During this period, the top-selling categories were 'eggs' and 'milk,' which increased by 460% and 325%, respectively. It is unusual that the egg and milk categories, which are relatively low-priced food ingredients rather than daily necessities or processed foods, ranked first in sales on the online mall.
The growth of Dalli Salda is attributed to the spread of the 'Meaning out' consumption phenomenon, where consumers purchase products based on their values and beliefs, leading to increased sales. As more customers aim for valuable consumption for the future by considering the environmental impact of products even if the price is higher, Meaning out has established itself as a consumer trend. The company also explained that the increased interest in food safety and sustainable consumption among those preparing meals at home after COVID-19 is another reason for the sales growth.
Dalli Salda only sells eggs with shell number 1 laid by chickens raised on organic feed at animal welfare-certified farms, freely roaming the pasture. No chemicals such as antibiotics or growth promoters were used.
Dalli Salda’s popular milk, 'Jeju Milk,' is also highly favored as it comes from cows enjoying Jeju’s water, highland grass, and natural air. From the 16th of this month, Dalli Salda will offer 'Jeju Milk' 1L at a special price of 1,390 won for Dalli Dream membership customers.
Dalli Dream stated, "We plan to take the lead in developing various products that meet the sustainability of 필(必)environment beyond eco-friendliness and to convey new life values for customers who prioritize ethical values in their purchasing decisions."
Starting from the 16th, Dalli Salda will introduce the following deals for membership customers through Dalli Dream Deals: 'Animal Welfare Chicken Breast (800g)' for 7,310 won (regular price 8,900 won), 'Chemical-Free Sausage by Bae Ikheon (250g)' for 5,500 won (regular price 7,000 won), and 'Washable Standing Zipper Bag' for 3,420 won (regular price 3,800 won).
Jo Byunghyun, team leader of GS Retail’s Dalli Salda, said, "We will establish ourselves as a lifestyle store brand that designs customers’ overall lives to be healthy and happy through products selected under strict standards such as organic, eco-friendly, animal welfare, and preservative-free."
